t’s here! The start of the 26/27 Pyramid season has begun. We are excited/hopeful for another excellent year at the lake! If the rumors of the super La Nina/El Nino are true, we should expect a truly amazing year out here, as this fishery is one of the few in the world that just appears to be getting better and better every year, and the worse the weather the better the fishing!

While this report will be written the day before the opener, we will have a few employees heading out here for Oct. 1st and will be able to give you a firsthand report on the conditions starting next week. For those unfamiliar with what a typical opener looks like, it is quite the scene and usually the first few days can be nothing short of exceptional, so long as you have the right gear. The use of fish finders, heavy jigs and thin diameter lines to get down in the zone quickly will be a few of the incredibly specialized things we do to target these fish in 50+ feet of water on fly tackle. As we have mentioned before, we are going big on fly selection for the lake this year, not only with a large variety of the standard buggers, beetles, midges and leeches, but we are also carrying 1/4 oz. leadhead jigs for those of you looking to try this early season tactic. We are working hard this year to provide everything one would need to fish this lake from open to close, including the flies, rods, lines, fish finders, nets, scales, and all the fly tying materials used out here and we hope to provide the best selection of gear for this incredibly unique fishery, one that holds a special place in all of our hearts.
